Located on the hills of the east bank of the Hudson River, Tarrytown is the eastern terminus of the Tappan Zee Bridge connecting the New York State Thruway between Tarrytown and Nyack. The Village of Tarrytown combines the charm of a river village with the excitement and energy of a downtown area complete with thriving businesses, restaurants and antique stores. Serviced by Metro North's Hudson Division, the 25 miles to Grand Central Station in New York City is about 35 minutes.

Educational Facilities
Tarrytown has a consolidated school system with Sleepy Hollow. It includes a pre-K, K, Pre-1, and 1,2-3, 4-6, grades 7-8 at Sleepy Hollow Middle School and 9-12 at Sleepy Hollow High School. Tarrytown has an active recreational department servicing both the young and old. Activities include AYSO soccer, TNT baseball leagues, men's softball leagues, Halloween parties, an Easter Egg Hunt and summer concerts in the park. Parks include Patriot Park on Broadway near the Warner Library, Pierson Park on the Waterfront with tennis courts, basketball courts and picnic areas, and Losee Park with lighted softball and baseball fields on the Hudson River. There are three parochial elementary schools, and nearby Rye Country Day School, which is a private, small-class school for students Pre-K thru 12.
