Thornwood Hamlet of Thornwood Distance to NYC: 30 miles Area: 3.4 square miles The hamlet of Thornwood is located in the town of Mount Pleasant approximately 30 miles north of midtown Manhattan. It is serviced by either the Pleasantville or Hawthorne train stations which are a short 50 minute train ride to Grand Central Terminal. Mt. Pleasant is comprised of the villages of Sleepy Hollow and Pleasantville and the hamlets of Hawthorne, Pocantico Hills, Thornwood and Valhalla. Thornwood also is accessed by the Saw Mill Parkway and the Sprain Brook Parkway. Thornwood is set in the rolling countryside of Westchester County with a mix of housing options.
